Rio Rapids Parent Volunteers

Parent involvement is vital to the success of the swim season. Did you know it takes over 100 parents to execute a swim meet? Please come to registration night in order to sign up for your desired volunteer position.

Timing Provides timers, runners, and lane writers for all home and away meets and is our biggest committee.

Snack Bar Runs the snack bar at all home events, provides refreshments for timers and coaches. This generates the income for our team to purchase equipment and incidentals throughout the season.

Ribbons Labels and sorts all the children's ribbons at all meets.

Set-up/Take-down & Parking Prepares the pool and ready area for home swim meets, time trials and invitational, cleans up and puts away equipment following the meets and supervises parking detail.

Ready Area Hosts a ready area for each age group at home and away meets, makes sure children stay in the designated groups.

Social Events Plans for all barbecues, pasta nights, pep rallies, parent parties and the end of the year awards banquet.

Fundraising Coordinates RDO Invitational meet.

Website Maintains the team website and content.

Computer Runs the Colorado and Meet Manager software during the home swim meets.

Stroke and Turn Provides stroke and turn officials for home and away meets. Must have some swimming knowledge and attend necessary training class.

Note: registration is not complete until parents have signed up to volunteer in one of these areas.
